Blaming Trump for a Global Pandemic From China

Oct 13, 2020

If you listen to Democrats, the effects of a global pandemic called Covid19 that started in China is President Trump’s fault. Even though Dr. Anthony Fauci said that Trump acted “very early”, that the actions he took “saved lives” and that he followed all of his and Dr. Brix’s recommendations, Democrats want you to believe that Joe Biden, a guy who has trouble answering questions without (or with) a teleprompter, would have handled the crisis better. This is not just Monday morning quarterbacking, it is not even plausible given that Biden criticized some of the most important things that Trump did, like the travel restrictions to China and other places, calling them “hysterical xenophobia and fearmongering.”

The US death rate is 9th (not counting developing nations that don’t have accurate numbers) with many major countries having worse numbers, like Belgium, Britain, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Chile, Brazil.  And if it weren’t for a few blue states like NY who made significant mistakes, the US numbers would have been even better. New York state has 5.5% of the U.S. population but has 17.5% of the deaths in the US.

I’m not going to accuse any leaders of “murder” like Democrats are disgracefully trying to do to President Trump, but we can at least say that New York’s decision to require nursing homes to accept Covid19 positive people was a significant mistake. New York was also telling people to ride the subway and go to crowded festivals very late, long after President Trump was taking significant actions nationally.

President Trump is criticized by Democrats for ‘downplaying’ Covid19 but the reality is that everyone from the WHO on down was downplaying it at first. The detailed timeline shows that President Trump acted far more quickly to developments than many of the same people who are criticizing him now. The timeline also makes it easy to understand why New York state had the worst experience with Covid19 in the U.S.by far.

The Timeline

1/19 WHO Tweet: Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China.  That was 5-6 weeks AFTER this was found not to be true in Wuhan but China kept that to themselves.

1/21 Dr. Anthony Fauci, ‘We need to take it seriously and do the kinds of things that the CDC and the department of homeland security are doing but this is not a major threat for the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States should be worried about.’

1/26, NYC Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot “We are encouraging New Yorkers to go about their everyday lives… [those] who had recently traveled from Wuhan were not being urged to self-quarantine or avoid large public gatherings.”

1/30, The CDC confirmed publicly for the first time the person-to-person spread.

1/30, The WHO declares a global health emergency.

1/31, President Trump declares coronavirus to be a U.S. public health emergency and issued the ban on travel between the United States and China, the day after the WHO declares a global health emergency.

1/31 Washington Post 'Get a Grippe, America. The flu is a much bigger threat than coronavirus, for now.'

1/31 Washington Post 'How our brains make coronavirus seem scarier than it is.'

1/31 Vox  ‘It this going to be a deadly pandemic? No’

2/1 In response to Trump's China travel restrictions, Biden says 'This is no time for Donald Trump's record of hysteria and xenophobia, hysterical xenophobia and fearmongering to lead the way instead of science.'

2/3 Washington Post 'Why we should be wary of an aggressive government response to coronavirus.'

2/2 Oxiris Barbot "There is no reason not to take the subway, not to take the bus, not to go out to your favorite restaurant, and certainly not to miss the parade next Sunday.”

2/2 Oxiris Barbot “As we gear up to celebrate the #LunarNewYear in NYC, I want to assure New Yorkers that there is no reason for anyone to change their holiday plans, avoid the subway, or certain parts of the city because of #coronavirus.”

2/2 Oxiris Barbot in response to Trump China travel ban, “There is NO excuse for anyone to discriminate or stigmatize people of Asian heritage. We are here today to urge all New Yorkers to continue to live their lives as usual.”

2/3 WHO Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus “There is no reason for measures that unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade.”

2/4 China’s consul general in New York, Huang Ping, criticized Trump’s travel restrictions as “an overreaction by the American government in severely restricting travel to and from China.”

2/7 NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, “We went through this before: Zika virus, Ebola, et cetera. But let’s have some connection to the reality of the situation. Catching the flu right now is a much greater risk than anything that has anything to do with coronavirus.”

2/6 New York City Councilmember  Mark Treyger “we will not tolerate rising xenophobia and anti-Asian/anti-Chinese sentiment we’ve seen related to Coronavirus. The virus of misinformation is a greater threat than Coronavirus itself. #FactsMatter

2/7 Oxiris Barbot “We’re telling New Yorkers, go about your lives, take the subway, go out, enjoy life…  If it were likely that it could be transmitted casually, we would be seeing a lot more cases.”

2/9 Oxiris Barbot “Today our city is celebrating the #LunarNewYear parade in Chinatown, a beautiful cultural tradition with a rich history in our city. I want to remind everyone to enjoy the parade and not change any plans due to misinformation spreading about #coronavirus.”

2/9 New York City Councilmember Mark Levine ‘Despite #coronavirus fear mongering, today’s #LunarNewYear parade in Chinatown is a joyous show of pride. If you missed it, make a point of coming here later to support local businesses.”

2/9 Mark Levine “In powerful show of defiance of coronavirus scare, huge crowds gathering in NYC’s Chinatown for ceremony ahead of annual Lunar New Year parade. Chants of ‘Be Strong Wuhan!’ If you are staying away, you are missing out.”

2/10 De Blasio “If you’re under 50 & you’re healthy, which is most NYers, there’s very little threat here. This disease, even if you were to get it, basically acts like a common cold or flu. And transmission is not that easy.”

2/13 New York City Councilman Corey Johnson, “It is important to support the Chinese community in New York City. Unfortunately, many businesses and restaurants in Chinatown, Flushing, and Sunset Park are suffering because some customers are afraid of the coronavirus. But those fears are not based on facts and science. The risk of infection to New Yorkers is low. There is no need to avoid public spaces. I urge everyone to dine and shop as usual.”

2/24 Nancy Pelosi, “Come to Chinatown. Precautions have been taken...We think it's very safe and want others to come.”

2/26, CDC announces that the first case of suspected local transmission in the United States.

2/26 President Trump immediately creates the Coronavirus Task Force and names Vice President Pence to lead it.

2/27 Pence names Dr. Deborah Birx to serve as the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator.

2/27 Gail Collins of The New York Times writes article on the Coronavirus titled, 'Let's Call It Trumpvirus' with subheadline 'If you're feeling awful, you know who to blame.'  The New York Times is totally NOT Fake News.

2/29, The first death from the coronavirus was recorded in the United States.

2/29 President Trump halts travel with Iran, parts of Italy and South Korea.

3/1 Oxiris Barbot ‘Despite this development, New Yorkers remain at low risk for contracting #COVID19. As we confront this emerging outbreak, we need to separate facts from fear, and guard against stigma and panic.’

3/2 Gov. Cuomo, “In this situation, the facts defeat fear, because the reality is reassuring. It is deep-breath time… it’ll resolve on their own. The woman who has now tested positive, she’s at home, she’s not even in a hospital, so the perspective here is important. And the facts, once you know the facts, once you know the reality, it is reassuring, and we should relax, because that’s what’s dictated by the reality of the situation. I get the emotion, I understand; I understand the anxiety. I’m a native-born New Yorker, we live with anxiety. But the facts don’t back it up here. . . . What happened in other countries versus what happened here, we don’t even think it’s going to be as bad as it was in other countries.”

3/2 De Blasio ‘I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus.’

3/2 De Blasio “We have a lot of information now, information that is actually showing us things that should give us more reason to stay calm and go about our lives. This is not, so far, something that you get through casual contact.”

3/4 Oxiris Barbot “There’s no indication that being in a car, being in the subways with someone who’s potentially sick is a risk factor, because, again, it goes back to the issue of casual contact.”

3/8, Dr. Fauci "Right now in the United States, people should not be walking around with masks. There's no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you're in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even block a droplet, but it's not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences: People keep fiddling with the mask, and they keep touching their face."

3/9 Italy announces a nationwide quarantine.

3/9 California Gov. Gavin Newsom praises the Trump administration's response to the Coronavirus. 'He said everything I could have hoped for. And we had a very long conversation and every single thing he said, they followed through on.'

3/9 De Blasio, “If some people can telecommute and it does not disrupt business, that’s helpful. But mainly the point is, go about your business. Take those basic precautions, washing your hands regularly, covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough.”

3/11 the WHO declared coronavirus to be a worldwide pandemic.

3/11 De Blasio, We’re “telling people to not avoid restaurants, not avoid normal things that people do. . . . If you’re not sick, you should be going about your life.”

3/12 President Trump imposed travel restrictions on Europe and elsewhere.

3/13 President Trump declared a national emergency.

3/13 Dr. Anthony Fauci explains on MSNBC why Trump's travel bans were 'smart' and are saving lives, 'Clearly, early on, we made a travel ban with regard to China. That was a very smart move because what that did was prevent a major influx from China. Today, the new China is Europe.'

3/14 Trump announces partnership with Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS and others to fight Coronavirus. 'They're the biggest business people, the greatest retailers anywhere in the world.' Walmart CEO, 'we were eager to do our part to help serve the country.' Testing, space, resources.

3/15 Mark Levine 'I think in retrospect we deliberated too long on the various shutdown steps.'

3/27 President Trump signs the CARES Act. A $2.2 Trillion Dollar package to provide economic relief during the Coronavirus shutdown. The CARES Act is the biggest relief package in American history.

3/27 President Trump uses the Defense Production Act to instruct GM to prioritize ventilator production to combat the Coronavirus. Democrats had been saying he should use it but most companies were voluntarily producing. Democrats used to call him dictator but he used federal power only as last resort.

3/28 Politico, 'De Blasio's coronavirus crisis'. It is revealed that Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot pleaded with De Blasio on March 10 to lock things down. Some threatened to resign if he did not but he still waited five more days to do what was obvious to everyone else needed to be done.

3/28 President Trump sends off the USNS Comfort, the biggest medical ship in the world. The Comfort is headed to New York filled with supplies and personnel to combat the Coronavirus at the current hottest spot. The USNS Mercy, another medical relief ship, is sent to Los Angeles per their request.

3/30 John Carney, 'Ford and GE Plan to Make 50,000 Ventilators in Michigan in 100 Days' Incredible cooperation & mobilization of effort as in war time. Peter Navarro 'We salute that effort and look forward to the first ventilators rolling off the Michigan assembly line in record time'

4/1 Gavin Newsom again praises Trump's COVID19 response. 'I'd be lying to you to say that he hasn't been responsive to our needs. He has. Every time I called the President, he's quickly gotten on the line... Mercy ship... 2,000 of these field medical sites... because of his support.'

4/6 CNBC, 'Trump and 3M strike deal to bring 55.5 million masks a month to US to help coronavirus response' After a brief dispute Trump said, 'So the 3M saga ends very happily.' 3M CEO, 'I want to thank President Trump and the Administration for their leadership and collaboration.'

4/8 Molly Hemmingway 'Trump Was Right, Cuomo Was Wrong About Ventilator Needs' Trump doubted Cuomo's claim that NY needed 40000 ventilators. Everyone went nuts as usual. Guardian, CBS News, Washington Post, Vox, USA Today. De Blasio, 'he's not looking at the facts' Peak was about 5000. Trump wisely did not send the entire national supply of ventilators to NY as they wanted so that the needs of other states could be met as well.

4/19 NY Governor Cuomo continues to praise Trump's Covid19 response. 'The president brought in the Army Corps of Engineers. They built 2,500 at Javits ... It was a phenomenal accomplishment... What the federal government did working with states was a phenomenal accomplishment.'

4/23 Dr. Brix shoots down the false democrat and MSM narrative that the US response to COVID19 has been lacking compared to other countries. 'Our mortality in the United States is significantly less than many of the other countries when you correct for population.' Which is the only fair measure.

4/29 NJ Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy praises Trump's response to COVID19. 'Whether it was ventilators, the Army Corps building out capacity, FEMA with our testing sites ... you all, literally in the here and now, this week, are helping us in a big way.'

5/3 Nate Silver debunks the absurd dem narrative that Trump is responsible for COVID deaths. 'The fact that many peer countries are struggling with COVID-19 roughly as much as the US suggests there's some naivety to claims such as' so and so would be doing much better than Trump.

5/16 Democrat Ron Kim on the NY nursing home scandal, 'The fact we maintained and pushed Covid-positive patients into facilities that were not equipped to handle them, it was a fatal error.' NY has 5400+ nursing home deaths, leading the nation. But Cuomo gets better press than Trump?

5/24 CDC revises down the death rate for COVID19 to 0.26%. 35% of those with COVID19 are asymptomatic. Of those who become symptomatic, the death rate is 0.4% (.05% for those under 50). A 10th of original claims. Trump was ridiculed when he said he thinks it will end up being under 1%.

7/22 President Trump secures up to 600 million doses of COVID19 vaccine from Pfizer that are being developed under 'Operation Warp Speed'. FDA statement, 'Americans will receive the vaccine for free consistent with U.S. government's commitment for free access for COVID-19 vaccines.'

8/4 Dems and the Fake News Media claim the U.S. COVID response is worse than other countries. The U.S. Population is 330M with 150K deaths.  Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Spain and Belgium have combined population of 336M with 159K deaths. US deaths per 100K is better than Belgium, Britain, Spain, Italy. Same as France.

9/10 Derek Hunter explains why Operation Warp Speed is 'genius'. It gets the vaccine months sooner, not by cutting corners but by ramping production in parallel with the testing phase instead of waiting until the tests are done. Trump takes a financial risk by assuming success and testing in parallel but if the vaccine is good as is likely, people will get it several months sooner than the normal process.

10/12 New York Times science reporter Donald McNeil Jr. writes, “Events have moved faster than I thought possible. I have become cautiously optimistic. Experts are saying, with genuine confidence, that the pandemic in the United States will be over far sooner than they expected, possibly by the middle of next year.” “Despite the chaos in day-to-day politics and the fighting over issues like masks and lockdowns, Operation Warp Speed — the government’s agreement to subsidize vaccine companies’ clinical trials and manufacturing costs — appears to have been working with remarkable efficiency. It has put more than $11 billion into seven vaccine candidates, and the F.D.A. has said it will approve any one that is at least 50 percent effective at preventing infection or reducing its severity.” “Already the United States is faring much better than it did during the Spanish influenza — the worst pandemic to hit the country to date, and the one to which this one is often compared. It began in early 1918 and did not completely fade away until 1920, when herd immunity arrived, at the cost of 675,000 lives. The country’s population at the time was 103 million, so that toll is equivalent to 2 million dead today.”

Flashback to 5/14/19 Joe Biden aide Ron Klain during the Obama administration said, “We did every possible thing wrong. And 60 million Americans got H1N1 in that period of time, and it's just purely a fortuity that this isn't one of the great mass casualty events in American history. It had nothing to do with us doing anything right. It just had to do with luck.”  This means that if H1N1 had the same death rate as COVID19, Obama/Biden would have lost about 2.5 million people.

The ‘Coronavirus is a Hoax’ Hoax.

Just like the lie that Trump called white supremacists ‘very fine people’, the claim that President Trump called Covid19 ‘a hoax’ is a lie that has become cannon in the Democratic Party. They all tell this lie from Biden and Harris and Pelosi on down and they tell it very frequently including in the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates. After listing all of the hoaxes that Democrats have used to try to bring Trump down, like the Russia Hoax and the Ukraine Hoax, he said ‘This is their new hoax.’

It was obvious from the context, but he clarified several times that he wasn’t talking about the virus itself being a hoax. The hoax was that the Trump Administration had mishandled the response and is therefore responsible for excess deaths. The hoax is Democrats trying to get the American people do believe that the Trump administration did a bad job responding to Covid19, ‘cause we've done such a good job.’ But they will not stop repeating this lie. Like the Russia Hoax and Ukraine Hoax, the hoax is the lies that Democrats are telling and here it is even worse. They not only lied about the administration response (the hoax), they lied about Trump calling them out on their hoax by saying he was referring to the virus itself which is a hoax about their hoax.

Fake News about people dying following Trump’s Covid19 advice.

In March of 2020, a story come out that was too good to check. The story was that a man named Gary Lenius died because he took Trump's advice. Trump said he was encouraged by the reports that COVID-19 responded well to hydroxychloroquine. And in fact there were many success stories where people very near death took chloroquine and then made quick and full recoveries. The New York Post ran a story titled, ‘Man with coronavirus says drug touted by Trump saved his life’ for example.

But this fake story went that Lenius and his wife took chloroquine based on Trump’s advice. The man died and the woman had to be hospitalized. One example of a Fake News headline by Axios 'A man has died after ingesting chloroqine phosphate - one of the anti-malaria drugs that Trump has mentioned.' NBC interviewed on the wife who cautioned America, “Don't believe anything that the President says.” This fake news spread quickly as many media outlets ran with it.

The truth later came out that they ingested FISH TANK CLEANER containing 'chloroquine phosphate' which is not at all the same as the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine, and the cleaner contained lots of other poisonous crap found in cleaners. No sane person would have thought it was safe to ingest. In fact, the package says that it is not safe to ingest.

The story never really made sense. A smart man (engineer by trade) died eating fish tank cleaner on Trump's advice? He didn’t even have Covid19, nor did his wife. The story started to make more sense once the Mesa City Police Department's homicide division started to investigate. Friends of Gary Lenius said they don't believe he knew what she gave him as he would never willingly ingest fish tank cleaner under any circumstances. They also don’t believe she took any herself. It also didn’t make sense that she would take anything on Trump’s advice as she was rabidly ‘anti-Trump.’ Add to all of this that she had previously been charged with assault against her husband and wanted divorce, the story was possibly a way to both cover up a murder and to harm Trump politically at the same time. The Fake News Media could not be bothered with any of these details though. They had a claim that Trump was responsible for some guy’s death and so they were going to run with it.

Fake News about Trump claiming people should inject Clorox, Lysol, Bleach etc.

One more fake story that Democrats repeat constantly is that President Trump advised Americans to inject all kinds of disinfectants into their body to treat or prevent the Coronavirus. Nancy Pelosi pretending to quote Trump said, “We can kill the virus by injecting disinfectant like Lysol into the body.” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries said that “President Trump irresponsibly suggested that the American people inject themselves with bleach. That's exactly what he said.” Sen. Amy Klobuchar said that Trump was “saying, basically implying, oh you can chug bleach.” Other dems claimed he said to take ‘Clorox’. Joe Biden ironically said, “I’m not the guy who says, 'inject bleach in your arm.' I do know the difference between truth and lies.” Apparently, he doesn’t because none of this is true.

President Trump never said, “inject bleach in your arm.” He never said, “chug bleach.” He never said for “people [to] inject themselves with bleach.” He never even mentioned the words bleach, or Lysol or Clorox. In the actual quotes, he used the word ‘disinfectant’ but specifically said he was talking about ultraviolent light, which is a disinfectant. “So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way… And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning” but later clarified that “It wouldn’t be through injections” although there are medical procedures where UV light is brought inside the body.

The main point is that the only disinfectant President Trump mentioned was light. He was also asking a question, not making a recommendation. But none of the Democrats or Fake News accounts ever mentioned that he was talking about light. They all said he recommended that people inject themselves with liquids like ‘bleach’, ‘Lysol’ or ‘Clorox’.

In conclusion, the Trump administration did a good job managing the Covid19 global pandemic, better than many, though not all major countries. It is not plausible to claim that Joe Biden or Democrats in general would have handled it better. They are on record downplaying the virus long after President Trump took important, life saving actions. Dr. Fauci said Trump acted ‘very early’ and followed all of their recommendations. Quite a bit of false claims and Fake News were spread in an attempt to harm Trump politically but none of it fit the facts. In fact, we found out that if Trump handled Covid19 the way Obama/Biden handled H1N1 or the way the Spanish Flu was handled, America would have lost over 2 million people.
