College used to be more worth it. Today it can be a tremendous waste of time and money for a lot of different majors. When figuring out if it is worth it, most people look only at the difference in salary (which may not be anything for many degrees) but most forget to look at what else that money could have been doing had it been invested instead of given to a school.

Aug 3, 2026 ~ Andy Ngo reports on another DEI hire caught plagarizing and making many other obviously false claims. As usual, he and the leftist DIE proponents accuse people of 'racism' just for exposing the truth. "Jason Arday, a celebrity black studies full professor at Cambridge University in England appears to have plagiarised his academic work from the writings of a white female student. His claims of being serially threatened with death for being a black professor at one of the most elite and historical institutions in the world is now finally being scrutinized. The Guardian newspaper tried to help support Arday in a profile but it found that it could not substantiate any of his claims of being threatened with violence, including a shocking claim that a masked man with a knife repeatedly threatened him on campus. It was also revealed that Arday made a criminal report of harassment against another professor who raised concerns about Arday’s plagiarism. Leftists have been defending Arday, saying the spotlight on him is racist and white supremacist."
Donna-Louise has a longer article exposing what a fraud Arday is on multiple fronts. Running 30 marathons in 35 days and other insane feats of running like 600 miles in 6 days (later changed to 12 days). 300 miles in 3 days. A brain tumor. Being on a TV show that ended before he was born. And many other things. UPDATE: "Now, another line on his résumé is in doubt: Arday says on his official faculty website that he is a visiting professor at The Ohio State University in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion — but Ohio State’s DEI office shuttered in 2025, and the school said he was never an employee." @GadSaad explains how this can happen in our DIE over merit society: "Jason Arday is the poster child of what happens when the cancer of diversity, inclusion, and equity becomes the driving ethos of academia. He is as educated and as talented as my dirty socks (and allegedly a fraud and a liar) but his skin color supersedes all else. I have screamed about this in academia for decades but most of my colleagues have the courage of a castrated antelope so they sit quietly whilst our edifices of reason and excellence are destroyed." Academia and the left are so desirous of having successful black professors, that they intentionally don't vet qualifications even when they seem uncredible. And then they ignore criticism even in the face of smoking gun evidence, and try to silence the critics with false charges of 'racism'.

"In The Guardian, Afua Hirsch reveals that black studies academics in the U.K. had quietly pegged him as a fraud long ago:" "They did not voice them publicly because we all know that whatever the truth or the outcome, he would be unlikely to be treated fairly and we would all be damaged in the process." In other words, they knew he was a fraud but exposing him would damage the very real and rigorous field of study known as "black studies" so they covered it up.

But a core principle of wokism and DIE is that black people can do no wrong and so any evidence of such must be fought with cover ups and accusations of racism intended to silence the critics.

The tragedy of Jason Arday is that he was both built up and destroyed by the ruthless machinery of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). The academy made him into the golden boy of its philistine project of ‘decolonisation’ and gave not one thought to what the consequences might be if his thin story unravelled, as it inevitably would. No one can deny it now: wokeness makes false gods and real tragedies. . . This is the poison chalice of the state religion of diversity. It lays traps for the very people it celebrates. It handpicks members of ‘the oppressed’ for moral anointment and institutional gushing while leaving them open to exposure as others start to query their credentials. That’s the toxic bargain of identity politics: it builds teetering pedestals for ethnic-minority thinkers, meaning their fall from grace is often twice as fatal. And what a pedestal they made for Arday. They worshipped him as ‘the best in the world’. They beatified him as a black wunderkind whose very presence in a place like Cambridge might help to wash away its sins of whiteness. They canonised him as a living monument to ‘decolonisation’. It was precisely this, their giddy, narcissistic desire to manufacture a kind of black saviour, that made them turn a blind eye to the questionable elements of Arday’s CV and life story. They sacrificed their due diligence to the god of decolonisation. And Arday suffered. He was both poster boy and sacrificial lamb of the diversity crusade. Even as he gained from it – reaching the dizzying heights of a Cambridge professorship – he was being damned by it. The foundation of myth and sand his starry career was built on was untenable. Its collapse was a given. It is a testament to the ideological blindness of the inhabitants of our ivory towers that none of them foresaw it. . . . The Faustian ruthlessness of it all is mindblowing. . . . The media is the only institution in this entire tragic scandal that did its job properly. Journalists found a story and they told it. It was the academy and Arday’s colleagues who failed to do their jobs. Who failed to prize merit over identity, and failed to foresee the public embarrassment that would befall their falsely promoted friend. They ignored the truth – the media found it. I and others have been arguing for years that the politics of identity is a disaster for all, black and white alike. White kids are overlooked, black kids are patronised. Whites are branded ‘privileged’, blacks ‘oppressed’. Whites are seen as the beneficiaries of historic crimes who must atone for past sins, blacks as history’s perma-victims who require the gracious helping hand of the state. We are demonised or infantilised according to the accident of our race. Enough. Let our monument to Jason Arday be the restoration of the true ideal of equality. We couldn’t save Jason but we can save merit from the monstrous jaws of identity.
