They also try to play the shell game where they say yes, blue states are funding health care for illegals but under the state program like Medi-Cal. This claim instantly falls apart when you notice that these programs are funded in large part by Medicare.

It was never going to work and a few sane democrats finally realized that and voted with the Republicans to re-open the government. The rest of the Democrats were furious with those Democrats for re-opening the government even though they tried to convince the American people that they were the ones who wanted to end the shutdown. As usual, Democrats could not look more ridiculous. As usual, they lose to President Trump.
