It should be noted that this kind of affirmative action was a big contributor to the great recession of 2008. Black people and other minorities were held to different lending standards known to increase foreclosure odds. And guess what happened? Large numbers of foreclosures, especially in those demographics. Bad for the country. Bad for the people the policies wanted to help.
