The results of the DEI focused approach were spectacularly bad. Sep 7, 2024 ~ 'Radical Activists Nearly Ruined a Denver Mom with Racism Charge. Then the Evidence Came Out' Another false accusation of racism does damage. At a Denver school board meeting Hashim Coates accuses white parent, Kristen Fry, of an "unwelcome, unwarranted touch to my body" and calling him a "dumb [n-word]."
"The police criminally cited Fry, and the city attorney upped the charges after Coates’s protestations. Coates receive a restraining order, which hampered Fry’s ability to engage in school-board politics. Fry was barred from volunteering at her kids’ school. She was publicly humiliated. She was forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on lawyers. She went on anti-anxiety medication and received a prescription for pills so she could sleep."
Fortunately, there was a video of the incident plus witnesses that showed the accusations were a total lie. Furthermore, Coates turned out to be "a far-left political activist with a checkered past and a history of weaponizing allegations of racism." He's not even a parent of that school district!
Aug 18, 2024 ~ Stacy Davis Gates, president of the Chicago Teachers Union and executive vice president of the Illinois Federation of Teachers says that the reason Chicago kids do so poorly on tests is because tests are racist. 22 schools in Chicago do not have one student who can read at grade level. 33 schools in Chicago do not have one student who can do math at grade level. Gates explains, "The way in which, you know, we think about learning and think about achievement is really and truly based on testing, which at best is junk science rooted in White supremacy. You can’t test black children with an instrument that was born to prove their inferiority." Note that Chicago public schools spends far more on per pupil than the national average. Recall the Chicago Teachers Union said this during the pandemic: "The push to reopen schools is rooted in sexism, racism and misogyny." Pathetic.

"Many of the syllabi examined for this study were nakedly political. Most syllabi intensively focused on identity topics of race, gender, sexuality, queer theory, and militant social protest. The predominant takeaway for students in many of these classes was American history as a history of exclusion, chiefly organized around identity.
Neglected topics included basic political history, including various presidential administrations, pivotal elections, and party development. Legal history was generally excluded, as was military history and diplomatic history. Conservatism, of course, was almost universally framed in a negative context. Primary readings from conservative thinkers were rarely assigned.
Absent, also, was any indication that the United States had made real and significant progress on civil rights and race relations in the 20th century. Moreover, there was rarely any indication that the average standard of living, for all people, increased substantially across the twentieth century (better housing, health, education, and technology); instead, students were often fed an anti-market, anti-consumerist narrative about the corrupting effects of capitalism. Social, economic, and technological advancements received virtually no mention; instead, post-World War II America was often portrayed as a period – not of prosperity and expanding freedom – but of greed, decline, sexism, homophobia, and racism."

Due to 'equity', no students of color can be expected to learn anything at all, least of all black people.
